Roundwood chair

Springing from a very simple idea that the back rest and arm could be molded from one piece and carry the structure for the four chair legs. This simplified and boiled down design is both expressive of its structure and inviting to sit in.

The way it is made means that it is very strong and it is also comfortable because the structure allows for movement and flex.

The chair like the “Roundwood” collection it goes with is both modern and innovative, reminiscent of the exciting and free early post war design ethic expressed in the festival of Britain in 1953
